Staying Healthy This Fall

Fall is upon us. With the season of apples, pumpkins, sweaters and changing foliage, comes apple picking, pumpkin picking, extra layers to contend with and leaf pickup. We take the good with the bad. It is also the season in which people suffer from illness. Unfortunately, back issues persist whilst enjoying all of the wonderful things that we love about the Fall season.

Chiropractic care is more than treating a specific ailment; it is about helping patients achieve the highest possible level of care for mind, body, and spirit. This is true during every season. When tending to your yard, make sure you’re not biting off more than you can chew when raking and collecting leaves into a bag. Even though this seems like a mundane task, our bodies feel every minute. Make sure you are using your body correctly when reaching for those apples or pumpkins. When we go out in those extra layers, make sure we are consciously compensating for the extra warmth our muscles receive and the extra bulk it creates for our daily movements.

Chiropractic care can also aide in the cold and flu season. Although chiropractic care is often used as a means to reduce pain or discomfort in various regions of the body, it is also intended to keep the spine aligned properly. When the spine is adjusted into a proper position, the nerves housed in the human nervous system will benefit from dramatic boosts in functioning. Since the intricate and fragile network of tiny signals can easily be scrambled, it is vital that the back is aligned to remove any misinformation and improve the effectiveness of the spine sending messages to the brain. Thusly, when your nervous system is well-supported, your entire body will be strengthened and able to take on the war against the common cold.
